Subject: Is there any information around changing the points given at top
In reply to: no more bottom tie 's message, "This doesn't happen anymore since the point system was extended. Now it goes 1, .999, .998, .997, etc." on 19:26:19 08/04/24 Sun

Curious if they distributed the points more evenly for top half of dancers or so? I’m not sure how it’s exactly done – but sometimes I don’t get it. For example at feis level-- in comp with 12 dancers one dancer got two 2nds and one 3rd- but got4th place overall. Top dance got a first second and third- so that one totally makes sense to me. My questioning comes into the overall second and third place scorers. The second dancer got a first, fourth and fifth, and third place dancer 1st, 5th, and a 6th I believe. I’ve seen even wackier placements than that. I feel like giving a first place dancer 100 points and then the second place dancer 75 and then down from there it’s just weighting that score too much at the top.
