Subject: More parents and kids are wising up to the fact that Irish dance offers very little.
In reply to: So many in MA recently stopped 's message, "Teen dancers retiring? Is the beginning of high school common for numbers to decrease?" on 04:54:22 08/26/24 Mon

Irish dancing offers very little beyond being a unique and semi-cultural dance form. The team-building skills, dedication, hard work, practice, and friendships are nothing that any other school sport or club can’t offer. And those school sports and clubs are far less expensive and without a majority of the scandal, drama, and brutal intensity of Irish dancing. People have wised up to the lie that Irish dancing offers something so unique that all the pain and expense is worth it. My daughter danced competitively through 9th and 10th grade and it was at the expense of school extracurriculars that would have given her more enjoyment and a leg up on college admissions.
