Subject: Are there any "beginner" hard shoes available anymore?

It seems like many of the Shoe Brands are no longer making their, "Beginner" hard shoes, or at least they are hard to find in the US. We use to order a Rutherford hard shoe with a tan leather sole which ran in the $100 range. Availability is very low, so I'm assuming they have stopped making them?

Does anyone have a suggestion for a decently priced beginner hard shoe? I would love to have an option for first time hard shoe dancers that doesn't cost $175! I understand the quality is different... but for brand new beginners who are going to outgrow the shoes before they learn their second step, I would just like a less overwhelming (price wise) option.

A Vendor in the US would be IDEAL, but I'll take any suggestions.

Has anyone tried the Corrs, "Economy" hard shoe. Is sizing similar to Rutherford?

I don’t think tan soles are good for beginners—I used to wear them as a champ dancer training 6x per week because my feet were really strong and any other suede soles wouldn’t last; when I went back to dancing after a break I couldn’t wear them anymore because my feet had lost the strength and I danced less; I could order them (inside)… -- Former senior lady, 03:02:39 01/11/25 Sat

We love the Antonio pacelli essential hardshoes. They come from Ireland but are much cheaper than others and are great quality! (NT) -- AP, 17:35:46 01/11/25 Sat
We have also used Antonio Pacelli Essential hard shoes for beginners. Work out much more economical than other optiond but still a nice quality for a first shoe (NT) -- hope that helps, 16:53:12 01/12/25 Sun
