why would a 22, 23 24 year old go to a feis that is only offering an over 18 or 19 age group. This is so lazy, shortsighted and unfair. Senior dancers are shown no respect. it's alot tougher to still be dancing as a senior. -- Main Irish Dance Message Board!

It takes alot more dedication and commitment so it's not really a fair competiton against 18 and 19 year olds. If you want senior dancers to attend your feis you need to offer them a competiton. Thats why numbers are down in the senior age group. Do better

my dd competed until she was 23 and she nearly always placed over the 18yo dancers. If the comp is gigantic, it would be good to have more age groups. But just being 23 doesn't make you less competitive (NT) -- yes, many preparing for world, 08:44:26 01/27/25 Mon

It goes both ways, it's not like U14 - they can't offer or split age groups for registrations they're not getting. Needs to be highlighted that they encourage senior dancers and will split (NT) -- hyg, 05:36:01 01/29/25 Wed
