First, I don't think it's much of anyone's business what happening in someone else's life; that is their business leave the child alone. You have no idea what circumstances are going on. I understand the frustration of having to serve a ban especially due to moves outside of your control - I am a military Brat, and I have had schools close multiple times during separate a competitive season. I've had some bans appealed, and others denied.

Second, we have no idea what the criteria is for ban exemptions. Why are some accepted and others not? We don't know. But the Ban committee is very strict, and there is a process to appeal. From my understanding the old and new teachers get contacted, and even the regional directors get slightly involved.
In recent years a new "one day exemption" has been put in place and I have seen that approved a few times now over a total ban removal.

And all of you yelling at poor Aoife McEntee for being the correspondence between the appeal process and the committee - shame on you.
