Subject: We received a ban waiver
In reply to: Restyling period 's message, "So now we have dancer(s) allowed to do a major and feis during the 6 months." on 06:27:28 11/12/25 Wed

We moved over 2,000 miles cross country from one small school to another not super competitive school. My dancer never WQ so I don’t think it’s who you are or who you know. We didn’t know anyone of influence really. I had to sign an affidavit that I had not received the ban before so it seems like a one time deal and I’m not sure of the criteria. Both old and new teachers had to agree. I think sometimes they don’t always agree and I’ve even heard of TCs saying it wasn’t approved but never even requested a waiver. I can kind of see the reasoning behind it but I think anyone (not just military) should not have to sit out 6 months if their parents move hundreds of miles for work. The kids really have no control in the situation and it seems unfair. That being said, I don’t think military families are getting special treatment. I know of several families who did not get the waiver. That is really tough when you have to pick up and move every 2-4 years! I’m not sure why my dancer’s request was approved-maybe sheer distance?
