Subject: And if your idea were implemented, others would come on here blaming CLRG for a shameless cash-grab.
In reply to: qualifying space transfer 's message, "Many English qualifiers and top dancers missing at the worlds." on 00:21:17 04/07/26 Tue

This was done years ago. Not every teacher responded to notify CLRG that their dancer wouldn’t be attending. Waiting until the entries were lodged to cross-reference was too late to notify families who hadn’t budgeted the travel and too late for organizers to plan.

I understand your disappointment, but the event is too large as it is. No one seems to want to reduce the number of qualifiers, so those choosing not to go provides a natural reduction without taking anything away from those who legitimately qualified.

Replies:

  • Probably 95% of Australian and New Zealand dancers do not attend worlds every year. Many qualifying dancers never attend worlds as it's just too expensive. So I'm sure there are many US and Canadian dancers in the same boat. (NT) -- Australian Mum, 04:19:23 04/07/26 Tue
