In my studies of the phenomenon of mind control I have discovered that intelligent people are more likely to get into cults. The probable reason: they have more mind to control.

Interestingly, yes, that is true. Thoughtful people tend to reason more, and if you subtly nudge them into the intended direction, they'll come to the conclusion you want them to come to without ever needing to speak things out ad verbatim.

An example would be:
UBF leader likes being called "God's Servant".
UBF Bible study reveals that Miriam's contradicting Moses led her to suffer God's wrath.

So who can say UBF teaches that you're not allowed to contradict the chapter director?

Nobody said it, but "God's Servant" is a title used in the Bible to refer to Moses, and the thinking person will make the step that the UBFleader who preaches God's Word is in the function of Moses to lead people into the Good Land, and that He is speaking for God in a fashion like Moses and that contradicting him will be equal to contradicting God, and as such, will cause you to be cast aside by God, punished for disobedience.

The untrained mind will simply say "Yay so UBFDirector likes a title, so what?!?"

Likewise, they will come up with EXACTLY this excuse to tell people that they aren't forcing obedience to people.

But woe to the UBFperson who doesn't understand that the UBFdirector wants absolute obedience, they'll get "trained" until they figured it out...
