Daniel, I am a little bit confused about your posting. On the one side you seem to ask a question, on the other side you seem to already have the answer. Also, I am not sure what you mean with "destroying" UBF.

At first, my short answer to the question. The word "cult" has several definitions or aspects.

First, the theological definition. Some people are reluctant to call UBF a cult for theological reasons, because their official doctrines and statement of faith sound orthodox. However, UBF teaches a very different gospel "between the lines," through "unspoken rules," through imitation, training etc. In end effect, this UBF gospel is very different from the real gospel. If you have a closer look, then UBF's REAL teachings are not orthodox. So I am not reluctant to call UBF a cult theologically.

Second, the sociological aspects, or the practice. There is no doubt that UBF is a cult looking at this aspect. The authoritarian structure and abuse, peer pressure, group dynamics, mind control etc. cannot be overlooked.

So from both aspects, I would call UBF a cult. Some people are reluctant to use the word cult and call any group a cult, but if you want to sum up everything and have an answer to the question "Is UBF a cult", then, yes, certainly UBF is a cult.

Anyway, your statement that God wants you to "destroy" UBF does not make me feel happy. You should see these people as mislead persons who actually need help to break free from their wrong and dangerious mindset. Also, I don't believe that every member is "eternally condemned." We know that some leaders are very corrupt and from all we know about God's judgement, we can assume that He will condemn them, but still we cannot be sure, much less about the ordinary members some of which are good people, only very indoctrinated. Only God can look into their hearts and judge how much they are corrupt or only brainwashed and naive, how much they did not listen to Him and their conscience.

It cannot be our task to "destroy." Our goal should be to help the current members open their eyes and repent, and to inform the public about the dangers and true nature of the current, unrepentent UBF.

You should know that if UBF is a real cult, it cannot be destroyed so easily by you or me. This would be presumptuous. Just think of the Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, Scientology, Moon and many cults. So many tried to "destroy" them, but nobody suceeded. For an unknown reasons, God allows all kinds of more or less false religions to operate on this earth. Can you destroy the Islam? Even the false teachings of the Catholic Church could not be destroyed until today, just look how popular the Pope is again.

All we can do is pray, give proper information, care for people and discuss with people. God is the one who destroys all cults - in His time. If you think you have a mission to destroy, you may be on a similar fanatical mission as UBF itself already.
