Anyone who has experience with this situation: I would appreciate your comments on your experiences.

Some experience, from various backgrounds.
First off, you can not expect the "UBF noob" to be aware of what is going on. Don't make it look like they should have. Try to fill them in on a few gaps, encourage them to talk about whatever seems "fishy" without making everything look fishy, hey, it isn't. Many things (studying the Bible, singing songs, making the Scripture apply personally) are in principle okay, but the core substance (UBF organization), the underlying motivation (get you into dependence towards the Shepherd) and the predetermined goals (make you a member of the system) aren't.

Encourage them to entertain dialogue with people outside UBF. Make sure that they get a more balanced view of scripture than UBF indoctrination. Let them know that UBF is not "The Work of God", but even if it were a Christian organization doing God's work, it would be merely an insignificant fringe group doing only what they think is right (Campus mission), not the full will of God (caring for the underprivileged, orphans, widows) and that it's totally unreasonable to assume *every* UBF member stay a member of "campus mission" even when they're 80 years old.

Anyway, make sure they first become aware that there's serious, helpful alternatives to UBF in whatever UBF claims to be doing.
Then, second, let them gain an awareness that not all that glitters is gold in UBF, show them something going on behind the scenes (ubfinfo.de for instance), expound that by sharing in the UBF system, they also share in the wrongs committed by the UBF system, by partaking in UBF, they become partakers of the gross sins of UBF'ism (praise of men, leader worship, narrowness, bias, exploitation, abuse).
They should definitely know that by choosing to join UBF, they're joining a corrupt organization with the primary purpose of glorifying and enriching a handful of Koreans who take pride in "lording it over" others.

In Christ,
Mike K.
