Subject: Re: counseling UBF recruitees
In reply to: Jim Bouldin 's message, "counseling UBF recruitees" on 17:33:55 03/10/05 Thu

Parents, if they are concerned, can be the key to helping fresh recruits get out. The recruit's concerned non-UBF friends typically know the recruit's parents, so they can get word to the recruit's parents.

The campus minister(s), if they are clue-ful about cults and high pressure groups, can be an effective force in helping recruits leave. You can encourage the recruit's concerned friends to contact the campus minsters.

If you are going to discuss UBF with a recruit or someone being recruited, you might want to start with the UBF section of the Apologetics Index (http://www.apologeticsindex.org/u08.html) or http://www.rickross.com/groups/ubf.html. If you immediately confront them with rsqubf.fortunecity.net or ubf-info.de, they might use the UBF-issued defenses against these sites, saying that they are created by "hateful" people who have an "axe to grind" against UBF.
