The expression "love bombing" simply means the practice of some cultic movements to shower new recruits or prospects with extra love and attention. I experienced this clearly in UBF and you surely would also admit that this happens. It is not a scientific expression but that does not mean that love bombing does not exist.

You can argue that scientology is a sect because of their wrong beliefs. But you have to respect their freedom of choice and their personality.

But I don't have to respect Scientology's practice of deception in the recruitment process, their unethical practices in all other areas, their greed for money and their overall false doctrine of "salvation."

Why do you think Scientology followers believe in a lot of plain nonsense and practice many unethical things? Wouldn't you agree they are manipulated to do so? Or do you believe this is just their mentality and they developed all their strange views from their own free will?

Or did you every try to talk about the Bible with a Jehova's witness? Will they really that easily respond to your clear argumentation about their wrong doctrines or false prophesies?

I think you know pretty well that manipulating people is very easy and that there are environments which are more or less manipulative. UBF is extremely manipulative.

Also, you will have no chance to convince any of us ex UBF members that people in UBF are not brainwashed, manipulated or indoctrinated or however you call it. We have seen it in UBF and most of us frankly admit that we have been indoctrinated as well. I for my part do so. I can now see clearly the difference between my cultish restricted and manipulated self in UBF and my freedom to think now. I was not able to think outside the box. I practiced thought stopping. This is the only way for cult members to come clear with their situation. I saw and see you doing the same on the board.

Again, I see you implying that believing a person is brainwashed does mean I disprespect or despise him. And again, I reassure you that this is not the case. I would respect the personality of a Scientology member as well as yours. I do not despise you and I know that deep inside you are very different. But your true self is simply entombed by cultic thought control.

What we don't like are UBF's (and Scientologies) practices and doctrines. It's not about you as a person. As a person, I respect you and care for you.

Oh, and by the way, what does it mean for you that you respect Scientology members? You already admitted that it includes informing them about their errors, about their wrong doctrines and practices, right? And I hope you would also warn people who you see may be attracted by them of the dangers of Scientology, right?
