However, please do not hold up the strawman of former members wishing evil on UBF and its destruction. That is simply not true. Many here have testified abundantly to the grace of God received through their time their. It is the cynical charade of UBF leaders pretending that nothing is amiss that is most repugnent, not teaching the Bible.

Indeed. While I perceive that the UBF system is built upon Confucianistic, Korean principles using the Bible to justify their practices rather than being pure in the Word of God, the big problem which NEEDS to be addressed in UBF is not so much in the details, but in the meta stage, i.e. having a system which allows for abuse to happen, for leaders to exercise their flesh, for the Bible to be abused --- all without fear of retribution.

The leaders proudly proclaim that they never sin and "it's all a misunderstanding/fairy tale" etc., neglecting the message of 1Joh1:8, which clearly reveals such an attitude to be FAR from the truth!

Well, we want to see that these UBF leaders accept that they themselves are merely brothers in the Lord, to accept that they also are fallible, and mostly, to behave like brothers: when they make a mistake, repent and apologize rather than blame their victim!

But as long as they're UNWILLING to do that, beware --- not because we're "out to get ya", but because the TRUTH is more important and prevailing than the ego of some self-proclaimed "servants of God" who aren't even willing to do what the Lord commands!

There is one simple lesson: as long as you are on the side of the Lord, you don't have to be afraid. But if you leave the Lord, then of course, you have to be afraid that everyone just wants to see your neck in a noose... because you don't have the Lord's protection any more.
So, just ask yourself why UBF leaders always have to be afraid that others are "out to get them"?

In Christ,
Mike K.
