1:1 allows people to exert direct, unchecked authority over others, to "be the mediator to God" for them.
And the fundamental danger of 1:1 is that in case of doubt, it's always the word of the "shepherd" against the word of the new convert.
Now, whom would you assert to be making the more sober statements? Of course, the "shepherd", i.e. the one longer in the UBF system.
The Bible mentions a system of accountability in matthew chapter 18, first go between you and the brother, if it doesn't work out, take two or three witnesses - well, where ARE those witnesses in a 1:1 environment?
1:1 undermines the principle of accountability and responsibility laid forth by the Lord Himself.
If you think that you're so spiritually mature that you don't need to abide in standards set forth by Jesus Christ Himself --- go ahead
