Subject: Article about Cologne UBF from 1998

The German book "Sekten – Die neuen Heilsbringer" from 1998 contains a chapter about UBF, that is primarily based on experiences with Cologne UBF (the European UBF headquarters at that time). Here you can find an English translation of the chapter. I have tried to improve the translation a little bit since some passages were hard to read in English; this should be better now.

I am posting this since it has been claimed so often that Cologne UBF was different from the rest of UBF. But according to my own experience, according to many testimonies I have read or heard, this is not the case. Cologne UBF may be a little bit more relaxed and they may have a higher percentage of "right-minded" people (or let's say a lower percentage of "hardcore fundamentalist" people), but still it is a typical UBF chapter with all typical problems of UBF. Also, Cologne willfully shunned and excluded the reformers and were responsible for the division of the German UBF around the years 2001. Taking into account the way that the UBF system operates worldwide, and the fact that its members were trained by the Korean UBF and subordinate to Samuel Lee and now Sarah Barry, it would be highly implausible anyway that Cologne UBF could withstand the pressure and be shomwhow completely different. Anyway, we don't need to speculate and use common sense, we even have testimonies.

There are also other, even worse testimonies about UBF published by the cult commissioner, there is also a chapter about UBF Cologne in another book written by yet another former member, and there are some more unpublished written and verbal testimonies that I am aware of. All of these testimonies are about Cologne UBF.

The first testimony written by a mother, in the article linked to above, also gives a very good example how "covertly aggressive" (passive-aggressive) manipulation worked on her son and even on her. For an explanation of covert aggression, please read the article Dealing With Manipulative People. It's one of these must reads for current, former and potential UBF members.
