the Grand Mullah issued a Fatwa against fathers who force their daughters to marry against their will. ... Does this mean that the Saudis have become more progressive than ubf?

In UBF it's even worse, the arrangement is not made by the parents but by "spiritual leaders" who are from a different culture and often don't see the arrangement as trying to do the best to their children, as parents do, but as trying to bind members to the group, or make political deals with other chapter leaders, or give the members training, or a trial of courage. If fathers deserve a punishment, non-fathers deserve even more punishment. For example Teddy Hembekides who forced a young girl to marry a complete stranger who was much older and did not fit to her deserves a decent punishment.

Saudi Arabia is a land of freedom, compared to UBF. Once, as a sheep who already lived in a common life apartment, I dared to not attend the Sunday service. They had made it very early because they wanted to make some kind of excursion the rest of the day. I did not want to join the excursion and I felt sick, so I stayed in my bed. I knew if I got to the service, they would try with all means to make me take part in the rest of the program. Guess what happened. A missionary (who did not belong to our common life apartment) entered the apartment (one of my nice inmates gave him the key) and my room and tried to get me out of my bed, even using physical violence. You did not have any room for privacy in UBF. I guess in Saudi Arabia people have much more freedom. Nobody would break into your home and get you if you do not go to the Mosque, right?
