At first I was a bit disappointed about this announcement, but the more I though about it, the more reasonable it sounds to me.
The advantage of this forum was that it was open to everybody as long as he/she adhered to the netiquette as stated on the main page. No need to register. You could post completely anonymously. But these advantages were also drawbacks.
Instead of using the opportunity to have an open and sincere discussion with critics, UBF members used it to troll, throw in some propaganda and run away. We have experienced this behavior and this complete unwillingness and inability to have a honest discussion for 5 years now. Nothing changed. Actually, what can we expect? If you are a UBF member, you CANNOT question the system. You CANNOT discuss it impartially. If you are in UBF, you believe that the organization is GOD's ministry and its leaders are GOD's servants. Questions or critical thoughts are considered to be sinful and tantamount to losing faith. Questing UBF means questioning your whole life and belief system for a UBF member, everything your life is based upon. As in any cult, they cannot do it. Once cult members decide to question the cult, and start to have real discussions and make reality checks, it doesn't take long to get out. Often, there isn't even the need to have discussions to leave. They already know what is wrong, but simply cannot admit it. So, providing cult members a place to have open discussions is just like providing lame men a place to play football.
The fruitless non-discussions with UBF members costed us a lot of nerves. I think we have better ways to spend our time. Actually, we are kind of responding to the message that UBF members constantly are telling us: "Move on, get a life." Nearly everything that could be discussed has already been discussed. UBF has decided to not have a reform, to not answer our questions and to stay a cult. They had 5 years time to have honest discussions, but all we experienced was blind propaganda, trolling, ad hominem attacks or deceptive communication.
