Yes these questions may have been answered hundreds of times as suggested, but I think the problem might be when the writer discovered this web site. I they discovered it recently then the fact that the questions have been answered some time in the past is not relevant.
The question has been asked do they really want diologue.(I think that the same question might be asked of rsq) I would ask another question, do they know how to engage in diologue. I think to people coming from a ubf background diologue will not be something that they are familiar with let alone skilled at. To do it properly requires use to ask the right type of question. To do it effectively requires more patience than I think most of rsq have.
A week or so ago i was responsible for the Jackie Lee red herring controversy. Now that is an ideal topic to be addressed to the leaders of ubf. Personally I had never heard of Jackie Lee. An abuse story like that is worth devoting a whole section to. IT deserves to be heard. How ever to throw it at a rank and file member of ubf is a great way to kill a discussion. Because they will be like me unlikely to have heard of Jackie. Secondly they dont know the writer Nick, so will not trust what they will see as an unsubstanciated story. Why should they believe it
Now if the same story had been addressed to the leaders of Chicago it would have been a different matter, no need to substanciate it they would know it was true, they were part of the story, and probably part of the cover up. This is what I meant when I called it a red herring. Good arguement, it should be written about, but this was in my opinion the wrong place. Sorry for taking so long to reply I have been busy
