>Jon Jun is to be the new leader in waiting for ubf.
On the face of it he seems to have admirable qualifications having been in charge of ubf Korea we are told since 1977.
From his photo he seems to be not old, so if he has been in the hot seat for 27 years he must have been very young when appointed, so Samuel Lee must have thought him to be of great potential. We cannot say that he is without experience.
For me to make an attack on him might be considered presumptious, because I have never met him, never heard him speak, or read anything that he has written.
However I do feel that it is a very bad choice for ubf to elect him as a leader. The old biblical verse by their fruits you shall know them has found Mr Jun in my opinion seriously wanting.
In the year 2000 in Korea was the break between original ubf and reform ubf. Today in Korea there are more reform chapters than original ones. This seems to be a good example of in soccer terms a ubf own goal. Why because in expelling all the reform chapters Jon Jun has cost ubf a very heavy financial price in terms of money that will no longer be recieved. He has also at one stroke more than halved the ubf membership in Korea. Why did reform ubf leave? Simply because they wanted the answers to a few reasonable questions, and it was Juns intransigence in refusing to begin negotiations or even to try to answer these questions that caused this needless split. He has paid a very high price for this, one that I am sure that if he is honest he will admit. It may well have been the case that an agreement would not have been possible, in which case both sides could have agreed to go their own sepatate ways on civilised terms. He however did not even try. A civilized parting with both sides saying good bye and Gods Blessings in the future would have prevented an infinite amount of agro. He did not appear to even consider this. The Korean Christian press most certainly did. It was his decision that left countless loyal members of ubf heart broken when they were forced without a given reason from the organization that they had loved and willingly sacrificed forlong term. No Mr Jun though you may have many other admirable qualities I am convinced you lack those of a leader, you are not a visionary, you totally lack the ability to see the future results of your actions, surely a very essential quality of leadership.
UBF will not thrive under your leadership. I think Koreas loss will become a global dead loss. Some people may rejoice in this. I feel rather sad.
UBF I have to tell you come and live in the reaL WORLD. This world is getting more and more educated, you are a campus organisation, the sheep of tomorrow are not going to accept a leadership like this. Get real, start living in the twentyfirst century.
