God was tempting Abraham, by ordering him to sacrifice his Son. According to this, God allone can tempt us to sacrifice our Isaac. It is not up to any human beeing to play God, ordering someone to sacrifice something. If a so called "leader" is doing this he is playing God.
Therefore IMHO "To give up your Isaac" is not an biblical principle, when ordered by men.
