"Jews-for-Jesus" is an organization of "Messianic Jews", i.e. Jews who believe in Jesus (Yeshua) as the Christ (HaMashiach). Of course they are frowned upon, despised and abhorred by the orthodox Jews who don't believe in Jesus. So you can expect to read negative things about them on the Internet, written by orthodox Jews. But most Messianic Jews are wonderful people, have very sound Biblical teaching and build healthy churches. However, I came to believe that "Jews-for-Jesus" (JFJ) is an exception, a kind of UBF among Messianic Jews, apparently not so extreme as UBF, but still problematic enough. Other Messianic organizations such as "Chosen People Ministries" or "Ariel Ministries" seem to be much different and healthier.
Please read the testimonies on the website Ex-Jews-for-Jesus and compare them with your UBF experience. Do you recognize similar patterns of abuse? Particularly, read Baruch Goldstein’s Memories of Jews for Jesus and Moishe Rosen. Moishe Rosen is the leader of JFJ, the equivalent of Samuel Lee in UBF. Please compare the description of Rosen's character with that of Lee. For me, it is another example for a "power monger in the church" as described in Edin Lovas' book.
Another interesting observation is that JfJ gets rear cover by Ruth Tucker, who is the only "scholar" speaking in favor of UBF (and other cults such as JPUSA). She even wrote a book in favor of JfJ.
