Let me add one more thing. I am a German. I hope you know about the horrors of the Hitler regime. Do I, as a German, demand that our history should be forgiven and forgotten? No, I hope it will be told again and again. I appreciate museums and organizations that devote themselves to this purpose, like YadVashem. Am I "fouling my own nest"? Do I hate Germany? No, I just want that something like this will never happen again. You know, in Germany, many young people think like you "we are the 2nd gen's," "we don't care about history, but for the future." They never really informed themselves about Hitler and how all of this could happen. Recently, especially in East Germany, where people were under "political mind control" and many never learned to really think for themselves, they started to vote for neo-Nazi parties again. All of this happens if people don't care for the past. Even if you have changed, the mistakes of the past must be remembered and discussed again and again.
