The news is that John Jun was "elected" after the conference to be the new "General Director" of UBF, which is the same as the Chairperson of this "International Advisory Board." Does anyone in UBF remember voting for John Jun? Or for that matter, does anyone in UBF remember voting for the clique of people who "voted" for John Jun?

It is likely that the choice of Jun was a foregone conclusion. Jun was probably "recommended" by Barry and other elders for his seniority, and everybody else just played along. It is an oft repeated story in UBF that Jun once said, "Even if Samuel Lee and Sarah Barry run away [from UBF], I will never run away."

Is "Mother" Barry out of the picture? No. She is known to have written about a younger Samuel Lee, that he knew "how to lead from behind." She will make sure that UBF stays on the path that Samuel Lee determined for it.

Is this the end of "spiritual order", UBF's version of hierarchical shepherding/discipling? No. The heads are still Barry/Jun/Yang and company.

Is this the beginning of a more "democratic" UBF? No. Again, Jun was "elected" by a select group of unelected people who will supposedly take turns at playing the "leader" game. One of the members of this select group is Samuel Lee, Jr. whose only qualification is, well, you know.

This move represents reorganizing, rather than reforming the cult. Do they have a written code of discipline yet? A written means of addressing grievances against a leader? Has anything changed except for people's titles?
