Mike, I don't know the writings and theology of Nee very well. Are these points 1+4 presented as a fact, or are they valued as something positive (desirable) or negative

They are presented as the normal positive development of a Christian.
In fact, a Christian in Nee's writings SHOULD act like this.

Like I said, this book was also accredited by UBF as a positive writing, even though UBF tends to go great lengths to make it look like their Shepherding/Discipling doctrine is stemming 100% from the Bible and such they tend not to mention Bible expositors who made the points for them, but rather make it look like the point is theirs.

But do you see?
Point 1: After you become a Christian, you should be looking for authority... (i.. after you have gained freedom in Christ, you need to find a "shepherd" who can decide for you)
Point 2: When you're being confronted with the shepherd, you should drop all that you are and all that you have, and simply meekly do as you're being told.
Point 4: When your shepherd tells you something, ACCEPT IT and don't contradict.

If you don't follow these points, according to this book of Nee, then something isn't normal with your Christian life.

I wonder why this book isn't in every UBF library. A famous, well-reputed Christian writer is making all the points for them needed to establish a S/D relationship with their sheep.

Actually, if you read Nee's "Normal Christian Church life" you will find a much more balanced view, mostly regarding the limits of authority and what authority really is, but guess why, abusers prefer to quote "you should submit otherwise you're abnormal" rather than quoting "if a person is doing anything against God's will, they lost their authority already".

By the way, the passage I included in my initial posting was thrown at me in cut+paste format in another forum when I questioned why we should have ANYONE other than the Bible and our conscience to direct us in our life.

So goes the canon: if you're not willing to absolutely "get trained" by your (fallible) human "shepherd", then you can never be a real Christian.
And this is the foundation for spiritual abuse.

In Christ,
Mike K.
