Subject: I did not file for divorce

The claim in: "...Jim Rabchuk, and Ward C. filed for divorce from their ubf wives.." is not true--I did not file for divorce. Nor was my wife at that time a "ubf wife," if I understand that to mean we were introduced in UBF. I had met her on my own as a graduate student at Michigan State University, and we had decided by ourselves to get married. Since we were both studying Bible at UBF at the time, we asked Samuel Lee to marry us and he did. But I did not file for divorce. I was divorced by her--she filed the papers. I worked against the divorce for one year outside of the courts, but could not, in the end, persuade her to stop the divorce process. In the end, I acquiesced, having little control over the matter.

I hope double-checking for correctness before publishing claims here continues, so that this website may be a useful point of information and not mis-information. I heard about this claim and wanted to respond this much to it.
