This aspect of UBF was one that really annoyed and baffled me. There was a lot of wasted time and pointless effort. Meetings never finished on time; they would drag on and on while the leaders debated some extremely unimportant issue in slow, hesitant tones. Often I felt like saying, let's just decide something, let's just DO IT. All the conference signs had to be just the right size and shape, there always had to be a podium with a logo and a title banner, programs had to last a certain precise amount of time, and be in such an such an order, until everything was all changed around again. I agree that attention to detail is good, but not attention to detail causing extreme exhaustion to everyone, at the expense of the message of the gospel! But in UBF appearances are more important than the message. If a VIP is coming to your meeting, it had better be impressive-looking.
