Thank you for writing about your experience in UBF. You illustrated the abuse that happens to many in UBF.

You mentioned Yoon rebuked you after you had worked hard to serve the Christmas worship service. This reveals the difference between reputable Christians leaders and abusive UBF cult leaders. UBF leaders load down heavy burdens on members, such as preparing many things for the Christmas worship service while you have to study for finals and work at your job. Reputable Christian leaders understand the time constrants of members and ask them to give whatever they can. UBF leaders provide no thankfulness or encouragement. Instead, they find some fault you have and exaggerate it to bring guilt and shame upon members. Reputable Christian leaders are grateful for whatever help you could provide. Had you remained in UBF, you would only be able to live for pleasing the leaders.

Does Work Hard Yoon have a full-time job outside of UBF? I have noticed that many UBF leaders who do not work expect younger members to spend as much time doing UBF work even though they go to school, and/or have a family to support. UBF leaders have no compassion or sensitivity to the struggles and time constrants of their members.

I pray that this testimony will be used to encourage people to leave UBF or to say no to UBF Bible study invitations.

In Christ,

PECAS
