and when I see the hurt in their eyes, that they will NEVER see their children, brother, sister again, it really pisses me off to no end that this Invasion of Iraq was SO WRONG!
I can only blame those who pushed for this Illegal War--George W., Cheney and the Bush administration WAR MACHINE.
Have you ever read the "Project for the New American Century" (PNAC) agenda? I have read it, and re-read it. I don't even know if it's accessible anymore, even on Wiki or any archives. It's like the whole thing disappeared on the Internet. If I had known this, I would have copied EVERY SINGLE WORD of the PNAC agenda and printed copies of it.
It basically was written by William Kristol in 1996, and what it is about is that the US of A is basically the last Super Power in the world, thus, the world should recognize that the US should be in charge of everything. As far as Europe; they will be the last people to overtake. The first people are in the Middle East. They have the Natural Resources that people want--OIL, and they are deemed as "backward" Dark Ages people who can easily be manipulated and be tricked into giving up their OIL to companies (Exxon-Mobil, Shell, BP) that 'know' how to get the OIL out of the fields and move it all over the planet.
Democracy at the end of a gun is a given policy, in that the Middle East MUST be a democracy and not a religious government. This and the OIL are the main two reasons why Bush and Cheney planned the Invasion of Iraq. Of course, they also planned to make BILLIONS of dollars for themselves and their friends with NO-BID contracts for arms, supplies, transport, meals, etc... for our soldiers.
In the Spring of 2001, behind closed doors, the maps of the Middle East's OIL reserves were being examined again. Like I have written before, I knew way back in the late 1990s that W. wanted revenge against Saddam Hussein for his daddy. But at that time I did not know about the "Project for the New American Century" agenda of the US taking over the whole planet and being the only Super Power while the rest of the world was supposed to be at our disposal.
Iraq was the main country chosen because of its small size, Saddam Hussein's history of WMDs and because Bush and Cheney and the PNAC people figured that they could just walk in and take over Iraq and that the 'simple' people would just let them.
There had to be an excuse for the Invasion. I am convinced that Bush and Cheney KNEW there were no more WMDs because after the Iraq/Iran war Iraq was basically left destitute by embargos from the UN and that Saddam had to sell whatever WMDs and OIL he could to get money to keep his Sunni friends rolling in money (of course, Saddam didn't give two shakes about the Shi'ite majority of poor).
Why else were the UN weapons inspectors told to go home, when they only had about 90 more days to finish their complete check of Iraq for WMDs? Because Bush and Cheney KNEW that there were no more WMDs, thus they had no excuse to Invade Iraq. Bush and Cheney had to come up with the excuse and I still remember Colin Powell trying to influence the UN with his speech about the 'dangerous' Saddam Hussein, and 'mushroom clouds', to no avail. I remember thinking that even Powell didn't believe what he was saying.
Today, it's like the PNAC agenda never existed and that the people who signed onto it are playing dumb. Some of the people who supported the PNAC agenda are: Jeb Bush, Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, Karl Rove, David Addington, Donald Rumsfeld and Scooter Libby.
Cheney and Bush had our beloved US soldiers invade Iraq to begin the PNAC agenda, even though they knew that the UN could not or would not support them. They got England to help, since most of their ancestors were from England or were Anglo/Saxon. You know, whites helping other whites (you scratch my back/I'll scratch your back kind of philosophy).
All the deaths of our beloved troops and the Innocent Iraqis mean NOTHING to Cheney, nor do I think Bush. They just wanted to get their PNAC agenda started and thought that it would be SO easy, but they were SO WRONG.
So instead of admitting their mistakes, they just keep on going, saying we have to win the 'war on terror' and so we can't leave Iraq. It took the election of Barack Obama to finally start the removal of our troops from Iraq, and even that is going to take a LONG TIME to finish. Plus, Cheney KNOWS that Waterboarding is torture and he doesn't want to be reminded of what he and Bush approved of on some prisoners to get them to confess to an Imaginary connection of Saddam Hussein and Al Quaida. So when Gitmo is finally closed, Cheney will start to worry that the 'terrorists' will be closer to him than ever. That man is PARANOID to the MAX!
So, Cheney opens his mouth to defend his and Bush's decisions and will NOT accept that they were wrong. I believe Cheney would rather the whole Republican party fail with him, then the rest of us, instead of admitting he was WRONG. Now, Obitchecker, you may understand better my reasons for being so sure about Cheney and his treasonous lies, deception and corruption.
