I found all this out by Googling the information. I was not familiar with many of these things.

Shannon by Henry Gross. Oh yes, all about Carl Wilson's dog who died. The dog is at the Rainbow Bridge, along with all the other good doggies. Great song. But very sad. Henry sounds a bit like Carl.

Then of course there is Del Shannon, a wonderful singer who took his own life.

Some guy named Shannon did a song called Abergevanny. Not bad.

And there was a female Shannon who did a song called Let The Music Play.

Lots of Shannons.

As for Travis, well Merle Travis wrote 16 Tons for Tennesseee Ernie Ford.

Travis and Bob did a song called Tell Him No.

Randy Travis is a top country-western star. Check out Forever and Forever Amen, it's his best.

And Travis Tritt is also a top country-western star.

Good information. Carl Chandler keeps my name alive whenever he sings the wonderful song the Duke Of Earl. (NT)DukeSun, May 04, 2008 7:24:29
