In reply to: So insensitive 's message, "That was a figment of Peggy's speech. She did not mean for a jerk like you to take it literally." on Sun, May 04, 2008 10:06:04

Why don't you just lighten up?

Listen, I'm sorry that the horse was hurt and had to be put to sleep, but come on? These are just animals, not human beings.

Frankly (and I think Peggy agrees) the treatment of race horses is inhuman or inhumane, not sure of the right word. They are bred for certain reasons and they are injected with many harmful but legal drugs, most notably Lasix.

The connections are more concerned with the dollar bill than they are concerned with treating animals properly.

I am NOT the insensitive jerk you make me out to be. The tone of this board and the other one (Celebrity Obits) is often light-hearted and some of the humor may be perceived to be in questionable taste. Nevertheless I don't see what great harm it does.

I respect Peggy and if I offended her by my comments (including the subject here) than I am truly sorry. Hopefully I did not.

I will tell you, though, that seeing a horse die on the track is not nearly as serious as seeing a human being die.

Now if I am wrong to feel that way, I guess I will have the wrath of Dukie descend heavily upon me, but it is how I am.

That is all I have to say. I hope that you will drop it now.

Sincerely ..... the Insenstivie Jerk (according to you)
