Keeping a firm grip on his sister's shoulder, the two walked along the Quarters until they come to what appeared to be the door to the Lord Holder's office. Without hesitating, Nuriel knocks on the door.

"Do you think we'll be able to stay?" Bright blue eyes look up at the man, the usual smile on her face.

He gave her shoulder a squeeze. "I hope so, Janaye, otherwise we're going to have to look for another home in a different Hold."

"Oh," she replies, studying the door with a hopeful glance.
