Shelly,
That is sad to hear about the mom. Basically, really, what mom has done is push all her enema “troubles” your way so she doesn’t have to deal with them. Sad sitter has to go home to that kind of drama.
Little junior! What a fighting name. Sitter is doing good with him. This is the best part, “She was just telling him what a good boy he was and that she and his brother have to have the enemas too and they don't fuss over them. She rubs his butt and tells him to just relax and breathe slowly and let his tummy take the water in.” Seriously, that is what it is going to take. Some coaching, soothing, relaxing talk. He may be stubborn but most kids his age want to follow rules and stay out of trouble and be rewarded. By sitter rubbing him and relaxing him and sharing with him that she and brother take enemas also may help him. You and sitter are doing it right. Giving him that suppository first and forcing him to come back to you two waiting just sets him up.
Oh, do I know about toilet clogging poops growing up. I always described them as baseball bats. They were huge and as long as a locomotive. Her colon is slow. Does she do any physical activities at her age and grade? That will help. She might be stressed as well living in the conditions she does with her mom making her tighten up and become constipated. I am a big fan of eating bananas and drinking room temp water.
