In the recent years ambulating teams that drive around in bulky vans to examine and treat kids are getting steadily more common. These vans actually contain complete surgical offices and the teams contained therein perform any kind of examination and treatment, except major surgery. They operate in various modes:

They come to the home of the kid after being called for a specific problem and perform the task either inside the home or bring the kid into the van for the procedure.

They come home to the kid for general physicals or for special physicals to screen for problems.

They park at schools or public places to perform physicals and consultations, including school physicals.

These ambulating cervices may be run by the district health authorities, or by separate organizations and seem to be heavily sponsored by funds, medical companies and central governments.

When the doctors are not themselves specialists in the task they perform, they will often do the task with online support from centrally placed specialists.

These services are somewhat secretive about the exact tasks they perform, although they generally brag about doing everything. Endoscopic inspections in the genito-urinary system, digestive system and other body areas seems for me to be a heavy part of their work in addition to more ordinary examinations.

Even though helping the individual kids, is a purpose, it seems to me that surveillance of the young population and using kids in research is also a great objective of these enterprises.

Ronald Mcdonald Care Mobile is perhaps the greatest of these enterprises, but there are many more, of which some seem to be operating very shielded from public scrutiny.

By the way, if you have something to tell about, you can do it in the following poll or of course as a response in this thread:
