I was 8 when I started to feel excitement when my temperature was taken. But most of time it happened at home, not at the doctor's.

After putting in the thermometer my mother usually left the room for a few minutes (or more). When alone I started to rub myself against the mattress, until I felt a pleasant tingling sensation running through my body.

I don't know if my mother noticed my erection, in any case she never say anything about it.

@Tom, This must have been very embarrassing. Were any parents or siblings present in the office and noticed it?
