Hi everyone I'm 24 and like you believe in rectal thermometers and taking temps via the rectum, but as I'm sure your aware finding rectal thermometers that are the old fashioned rod/glass style is difficult so I thought I'd make this post and asking if anyone Still has working old fashioned rectal thermometers and if so would anyone be willing to sell their's etc.

Hi Brad.
When I was younger than 5, my mom would always take my temperature rectally and I lived rhexway she did it.
I-d be overvher lap with my pants abd undies diwn to my knees.
She was very gentle as she lubed my bottom and the bulb if the thermometer abd slip it into my little hole
As she waited the recommended 4 minutes, she would place her warm hand on my bottom with the glass between her middle and index fingers and It was very soothing for me.
In myvday about every kid in a doctor's office and hospital gitvtheur temperatures taken in their butts.
Back then doctor playing among achiol children was quite normal and rectal temperatures were part of the exam process as were shots in tge butt sunce Penicillin was always administered back there. Itcwas a great thrill but forbidden so we played behind closed doors or in seclusion.
