Thanks Maxine,

Most of us parents who do enemas already knew most of this. The name Valerie rings a bell. I remember running across an article several years ago and Krissi mentioned it too, about treating ADHD with cleansing enema interventions when the child is acting up or inattentive. She had great success helping kids who are so hyper. You remove the child from any situation where they are acting out and give them a high enema. I know they had a calming effect on me. Krissi talked about being stimulated while sitting on the toilet with her enema in her but I would lose that excitement and thrill as soon as stepmom had my enema flowing. I just wanted on my toilet chair, alone, with my thoughts and calming down wanting to get sleepy to go to bed.

Encopresis is reaching epidemic levels. The child starts out with some minor constipation, has a difficult and painful bm, and decides he or she isn't going to ever poop again. If you don't catch them holding early on and nip it in the bud, they get very good at it and the colon gets stretched and desensitized and you are in for years and years of pain and suffering for the whole family. There are several clinics across our country that specialize in treating children who actively hold in their poop. And most parents are horrified when they are told the treatment includes home administered high enemas. When parents stop wiping their child after a poop they stop monitoring when poop happens. They have no idea when their child last pooped. Shame on them. Shame on society for making parents feel they have no right being in the bathroom with their children on the toilet, even teens. Until the month I moved to college my stepmom was asking kids in the family "have you had a bowel movement today or yesterday". If the answer was no you would maybe giving until tomorrow to produce but if not successful you an enema was in order. I managed to produce for her so most enemas for me were the day I started my period. That's probably why I was not sitting on my toilet chair feeling myself like Krissi did. Didn't feel the excitement. Also, because we always emptied on the commode chair she saw what she got out of us and could tell if we were holding back, getting constipated.
