Yeah, that career stuff is garbage. A real liberal arts education will leave you with a highly trained mind and the ability to do well on Jeopardy, but with practically zero career skills. That's why I'm going into politics.

Actually, that's why I learned web design, Office, and how to write on a deadline.

A liberal arts education's value is that it trains you to think and gives you an exposure to all the things you need to be a good citizen. You'll learn about history, a smattering of science and math, philosophy, the world, and yourself. (At a good college, you'll also learn a foreign language). However, except as much as this makes you a more pleasant and cultured person who's nice to have around, these skills won't do much for you in the corporate/
"real" world. To do well there, you'll need to pick up some technical skills (as Mike apparently has done with Accounting, as I'm vainly trying to do with HTML etc.), but fortunately these are easy to pick up (except accounting, which really does require more work).

I recommend the liberal arts education by far, but not because I think it'll get you a job.
