Subject: I've read the BtVS spoilers, now I'm somewhat despondent...

I'm almost annoyed with myself that a show can affect me so much. While I'm sure that at the end of this season I'll realize it was masterfully executed by ME, I'm confused about the possibilities for S7.

Note: I haven't read the wildfeed for SR (and don't intend to, I don't want to form an opinion before I see the episode), but I understand that it's _extremely_ upsetting.

After reading the spoilers, I had the following thoughts/questions regarding the effect of this season on the next (maybe I'm just suffering from serious lack of imagination?):

Willow - I love all the characters, but (if forced to be totally honest) Willow is one of my favorites (after Buffy and before Spike). How can she come back from killing Warren? I know Buffy killed some of the knights and Giles killed Ben, but this is pure revenge on Willow's part (with understandable grief and rage, of course). Even worse, she tries to end the world. One thought, from the spoilers she conjures up some world-ending magic, Giles and Anya drain her of power, and Xander talks her down (from suicide?). Now, if she realizes what she is doing (through her friends' pleas?), stops the world-ending magic, goes to kill herself, Xander talks her down, and _then_ she is drained of magic, I can see some hope for her. This is suggested to me by the reports that her hair changes from black back to red _after_ Xander embraces her. I'm afraid to have hope though.

Tara - I understand the narrative point of her death, but I'm still so depressed over it. If ME brings her back, how can they do it? I don't know how a ghost or spirit would work (again this could be my lack of imagination). Bringing her back (corporal) would seem to retread all the problems with Buffy's resurrection. All this aside, I so do want her back. The only hope I have is that she is in the credits of SR. Surely that means something? ME wouldn't be _so_ cruel as to add her in the episode where she dies without some idea of a return, would they?

Spike - If he comes back completely "evil", how can he exist on the show? If he's the BB, wouldn't that be repetitive (S2)? Also, what was the point of his character development in S5 and S6? If he comes back with a soul that's also repetitive (and, JMHO, Angel should remain unique). Or if he returns human there is also a somewhat repetitive aspect (being Anya-esque). And if he returns chipless, but "good" how can he interact with the other characters again?

I'm just so confused. I was distressed at last year's finale, but (once I reassured myself by checking on the internet that Buffy would be back) I had faith that ME would accomplish her resurrection in an intense and interesting way. Now, I'm just disheartened.

Can someone give me hope?

One thought I like is the idea that "Back to the Beginning" means that Buffy will finally be able to explore the origins of the Slayer. This seems like a really fascinating idea to me.
