Truthfully, I think the chance that the wildfeed was a hoax is close to zero. However, just for the heck of it:

If there were anything phony about the wildfeed, it certainly wouldn't be the whole thing -- that really would be way too elaborate and expensive. But it might be possible just to alter a very few scenes, shoot two versions of maybe three key scenes, and change the meaning of the whole thing enormously. As I say, I really don't believe what I'm saying, but the argument might be that in the promo we only see Buffy and the arm, don't know who she's fighting, that we don't actually see the bullet go through Tara and there could be other reasons for Willow to go magicky -- I mean let's face it, if it were a hoax, they would very carefully have designed these things all to be capable of two or more interpretations.
That having been said, though: I don't believe my own arguments above. In particular, I'm very much afraid the scene of Spike forcing himself on Buffy has to be just as it's been reported to be. From all reports the scene is absolutely gruesome and must have been very trying for the actors -- there's no way in the world they would have made JM and SMG go through that for some ridiculous hoax-the-spoiler-whores scheme.

I think there is more leeway as to the Tara incident. But I still think it's unlikely
