I am planning to attend a Sunday service at another UBF chapter in April, right after Easter. I was invited there along with a sincere Bible scholar and evangelist who is helping the Reform UBF to establish a foundation in Christ for the Reform movement. I plan to take my children that day also. Please pray about it and if you want you are all welcome to come with.

These days I have been troubled about the children of our Chicago coworkers. You have read some of their stories on this board. Though one father is a board of directors member, he didn't pay any attention to his duaghter, who drifted into a suicidal mood. This same father also called my Bible teacher to harass him, but didn't care much about his own daughter. It is not Dan Hong, but another of our missionaries.

I spoke with one missionary recently and shared my concern that our missionaries lives are being wasted like blood poured out on the ground. (I explained to him the Jackie Lee story, and he had not heard what had happened. Sam doesn't tell the Jackie Lee story during his marathon announcement sessions.) The man agreed with my assessments, but said that he wanted ot stay in the UBF for the sake of his children. I asked him if he talked to his children about whether they want to stay, and said he had not. I asked him to have a family meeting to decide their family direction, not just assume that they want to stay. I think the parents say they stay for the children, and the children think they should stay b/c of the parents. This is so bizarre but exemplifies how dysfunctional the UBF family is in regards to communication, trust, and ultimately, love.

I think the family is stunted in UBF such that children cannot grow properly into loving, confident, optimistic adults. They are being taught that God is merely a disciplinarian, who has nothing but training in mind for his children. God is not training as UBF teaches. God is our eternal father who compels us to Him because of his infinite love. And we are then compelled to love others. UBF only teaches that God trained me and I have to train others, not love them. This is devastating the UBF families and children. The children know better than the parents in this case.
