Yes, he tries to be clever. For example in a recent message, he talked about how democratic the Christian life is and how everyone is equal. It made me sick because I know he does not really believe it or he would acknowledge the reformers.

Still, he is clever because he takes advantage of people's faith in him, but I think his capital of good will is running out.
