Don't blame me this time. You brought up the Sunday message, and I just responded. And don't worry. I don't think that there's that many people like me sitting around you during the service. It's probably just a handful who are obliged to go to the service for various reasons, as patriot wrote. Yes, our hearts are hardened, knowing that what's delivered from the podium often doesn't reflect the practical life of UBF. You semi-quoted the right verse for worshippers. The operative word here is "truth." When you know the truth is missing from the one who wrote the message, it's hard to worship. Let me "nitpick" some more. The first part of the last message was mostly about the Pharisees' being corrupted by becoming political men. When I thought about Samuel Lee's lifetime of playing politics to divide chapters and bring down chapter directors, I couldn't help but think about the hypocrisy of this message. But don't assume that we're starving for worship just because we don't like the Chicago UBF worship service. I had a particularly good Bible study lately in which both my "sheep" and I understood how great God's grace is to sinners like us through Jesus. There was real worship there. I find that Bible study time, whether it's personal or with a friend or "sheep", is when the real worship happens in Chicago UBF. Think about it.
