Vulcan... you know I did... this place is my life, this place is everything to me, ever since ive first arrived here ages ago.. horses came and horses went, but i have always been here, this place, and my friends, the horses that reside here, are a part of me, and thats something that will never change. I love it here, I dont know what it is, I cant see myself anywhere else. And of course i remember you, how can I not? My great Leader Vulcan, the tall warrior, the gentle giant, whos always been there to help others in time of need? Youve been here ever since ive arrived, and i wouldnt want starlight valley any other way..

Vulcan listens gravely, his eyes liquid pools of emotion as he hears his old friend out. He blinks, lowering his head to nudge her gently and affectionatly- then lifting and abruptly turning his head away. He stands still for some heartbeats before he finally speaks again, his deep voice harsh.
you ... you, my Serenade, you drove me mad sometimes but we had fun didn't we? I missed you. Your chirpyness. And you remembered me, though I didn't always treat you as well as I might have ... you remembered me fondly, even.
his head drops to the ground, then he lifts it again, getting a hold of himself he turns back.
My daughter didn't.
he finishes shortly, abruptly, and it's obvious he doesn't wish to talk more on the subject. He swivels his ears to her ... lightening his mood.
So what happened? Have you met Destiny yet? She thought you were dead ...

((Perhaps you should say she was captured by humans or something?))

.::She stood quietly, auds aimed toward him, orbs plunged deeply at his as he spoke. She gives a faint smile and nods, She had remembered him well. She shifted her weight uncomfortably at the mention of his daugther, feeling his pain in his deep voice.. but her features ligthen up at the mention of Destiny::.

Yes i have.. She has grown so much..I... I wish I could have been there for it..

Vulcan huffs a breath, turning back to Serenade and looking quite embarressed. He tosses his head, glances at the silent newcomer with quiet apology, then looks back to Serenade.
No ... I'm not, but ... it's nothing. I grieve, and it makes me idiotic.
His long ears flick and then he bows his head to the newcomer.
If you'll excuse us?
He turns and twitches his head in a beckoning motion to his old friend, turning and walking away across the trodden grass.

Vulcan turns his head, long forelock swinging downwards; the hair fluttering as it's picked up by the cold breeze. He snorts, and slows his pace.
I'm not. HUh.
He lifts his head and stares away, slowing to a halt, reluctant to talk. Finally he parts the communication from his self ...
The heartbreak of children, or rather that I am not so much of a father that my children will even remember me.

I stood, basked in the shadows of the early night. The cool air chilling me to the bone, I wished to cry in pain as my father spoke, how could he say that I'd forgotten him. It was the pure thought of him and the love of my family that kept me going, didn't he know that. I make myself known, stepping from the underbrush with noise to spare. "How can you forsake me father?" I stand, my head low, my heart shattered, had he forgotten me?

(( Good. :P The melodrama had me confused there for a bit. Glad to see you again! I'm all in a swelter right now - more work than I can handle in too little time is only the start of it - so I'm afraid you might have to put up with a bit of grouchyness, pedantry and erratic activity... ))

Vulcans long ears swivel as though in sockets, turning towards his daughter several hearbeats before his head makes the movement. He stares down at her bleakly through his forelock, pale eyes whiter than usual.
You didn't forget me. You remember me, my Kita. I love you, but I did forsake you, because I failed you as well. I must have, because you're afraid of me. What do you remember me as?
He stares at her, reaches his head down toward her, then abruptly lifts it as if shying away.
I'm sorry...
