I am pleased you enjoyed those stories. I really like Lovecraft's archaic style, although you are right - at times it can be tedious. Too bad no one writes that way anymore. Lovecraft read a lot of Poe and other, older authors. I don't recall that he was a big fan of contemporary writers, which may account for his elder style.
