The Death Star destroys Alderaan, the adopted home of Princess Leia.

Perhaps the people of Naboo realize that he is the boob who made the motion to give the future emperor all of his power. So, they call him back to Naboo and feed him to that big eel thing that tried to eat them in Episode 1 while they were underwater.

Seriously, though, the story shifts to the younger generation in the original Star Wars movie so you can actually have Jar-Jar retire peacefully, blissfully unaware of the havoc he helped create.

Or, the Emperor could kill him so that you know how truly bad the Emperor is. Maybe Jar-Jar dies sneaking the twins off to safety.
