"Finally," she mutters as she reaches the cave-in. She leans over the ledge to look at the wrackage. "It didn't look so bad yesterday..."
"Don't fall," Crow warns her. "I only have so much rope left."
She smiles. "It was stupid of me. Anyway, grabbing the rope was instinctive."
"And falling is too." Grace frowns again to hide her smile. "Thank somebody up there for these wings," he adds thankfully, folding them behind his back.
She laughs and sits down on a ledge. "What time is it?" she asks, yawning.
"Almost seven. You've got twenty minutes." he replies, settling down on a nearby leaf. "Civil twilight began about half-an-hour ago."
Grace sighs. "It wasn't until I was 16 that I saw the sun. It's a lot more glorious than I had thought it to be."
Crow looks up from his leaf. "Do you mean to tell me you had never seen sunlight? Ever?"
"Until a year ago, yes."
"God! Child, you need to get out more," he says in an annoyed tone.
She sighs again and places her head in her hands. "I was out since I was a day old. There was just no sun from where I came from."
"And where did you come from?" Crow asks, worried about her. Grace is silent.
