Abruptly, black-gloved hands tighten fists, clutching at the curving haft of her scythe. Slowly, Kain's back straightens, until she's at the peak of her regal height. And balanced easily on her toes as well. Like a machine, the woman turns, something tightening her face and forcing her form rigid.

Agony.

The Sentinel stops, staring blankly beyond the walls of the vast chamber, toward a moving point in space where an old adversary stalks. Where he hunts. It takes several tries for the dark lady to force word from her mouth.

"...not now...of all times, with all else piling up, all my troubles...not now..."

The gargantuan dragon, as well, follows her bondmate's line of vision. Pain radiates from her mind toward the other dragons, whether they sense it or not. Trying to hold back the rush of feeling, the gray rumbles deep in her throat deep bronze gaze distant and glistening darkly.
