Zane relaxed against one of the jagged boulders, brilliant blue eyes half-closed in a sleepy stupor. However, he jerked into full awareness as a dark streak skidded past him, interrupting the stillness he had been enjoying. His muscles tense with surprise, and he curiously eyes the figure who had halted a dragon length or so beneath him. Kain? He recognized the mercenary from a confrontation involving Luminae and several of Lome's clutchmates had gotten into when the red was but a dracling. The way the woman was staring pointedly at the sky where Zane presumed his bond was aroused some of his former worry, which was doubled the huge gray's take-off. What’s going on? He wondered, scanning the thick clouds for any sign of his bond.

Lome was startled abruptly out of his reverie, backwinging strongly to avoid slamming into the dark shape that loomed unexpectedly out of the concealing clouds. It took him a moment to recognize the older beast, but when he did the red inclined his equine head to Luminae in a gesture of respect. The younger dragon remained silent throughout Luminae’s admonishing words, golden eyes locked on the gray’s bronze ones. He acknowledged the warning of the mountain’s proximity with another dip of his head, and the advice did not go unheeded, either. Once she was done speaking, the red rumbled a reply,
|Thank you for warning me, I appreciate not being smashed into a bloody pulp.| He remarks sincerely, although there was a tiny twinkle of humor in his warm honey eyes. |I will be more careful from now on to avoid more near smashings. |
