Thanks for your question. “What is the purpose of meditation”. We’ll I feel it depends on what intent you have whilst you are doing it, for as the intent changes the purpose does also. I can list several reasons why I meditate and what I use meditation for if this helps. I have tried to be as universal as I can.

Meditation is the operation by which we alter our present state of mind into a new one, willingly.

We all use different forms of meditation. We meditate every time we watch TV. Moreover it is a dangerous form of meditation which programs a receptive mind with thoughts and emotions subliminally. People can and do form opinions about a subject without ever directly experiencing it for themselves. Many programs do not tell us how to think, only what to think about. We meditate every time we apprecte a sunset or full moon and still ourselves. We meditate when we are drumming or using other forms of musical instruments. We ever meditate when we dance.

First and foremost is feel that meditation in the classical sense of sitting down to meditate, it to relax the mind and emotional energy bodies, so that you can finally the relax body. Ether to bring yourself to a point of balance, or to distress yourself. This can be done using breath work, using natural rhythms of breathing or by maintaining a personal visualisation.

It is used to Alter brain wave activity so that you can perceive reality in new ways. By meditating we can alter our present state of mind consciously. Our world is only perceived to be real because we interpret the messages coming to our brains through forms forms of stimulus. Light can only be perceived by our brains in increments of 90%, so that if we change the way our brains receive this information, we can change our perception of reality and pick up on different frequencies of light and form. We do this by entering into deep trance, be on the threshold of dreams, or maintain prolonged periods of focus on a subject, we can even use it to dull pain.

Meditation can be used to receive Energy. This may be prana or reiki, of life force energy, realigning our chakra systems, or energising the body in many different ways to maintain a healthy body, mind and emotional state.

It can be used to clean our energy fields and emotions.

It can be used to communicate and interact with to other realms of spirit and offworld beings, including beings existing in other dimensional frequencies from our own. It can also be used for spirit guide work

It can be used for information retrieval: such as past life regression, accessing specific information stored in the collective consciousness grid, accessing information held within sacred sites or to receive inspiration, inner tuition

In terms of what id like to do at our online meditation Id like to use meditation to generate, and broadcast energy consciously. This may take the form of Ceremony, prayer or devotion to a faith – which are all forms of directing energy collectively. It can be used to direct energy individually as well. So long as your dedication of the energy that your generate and broadcast is to the higher forms of oneness and making it only available to those willing to receive it, you will not incur karma for your blessings only harmonious experiences will result. It is not wise, no matter how well meaning your intentions, to dedicate energy for a healing without permission on some level.

I welcome more on the subject, Is there something missing from this list?
