Josh,
Whilst my own understanding on the setup here is sketchy, here's what we know.....
You can play any network game over the network using the TCP/IP protocol, i.e. Q3, UT, AOE2, Fifa 2002, etc... but, (and here's the snag), you cannot route IPX through the network. Hence n Red Alert 2 with a hub and the machines next to each other I'm afraid!
The way to connect to a game not on the same gateway as you is to connect directly to their IP address (obtained using winipcfg or similar). These IP's are not accessable from outside the Uni intranet. Whilst you cannot "see" other computers on the network they are there, and you can "talk to them" (if that makes sense?)
So, in short, I 100% guarantee that Quake and Unreal Tourney will work for us, provided we know the hosts IP address. The host for most games will most probably be a dedicated machine.
Cheerz

oh, btw, I know this all works 'cos I've killed and been killed by friends in New Rootes, P-Block.
Another game maybe Grand Theft Auto (1or2) - I think it supports TCP/IP, should do!
